WELCOME TO HERMIT’S NEST, BIR
Hi Guys,
Thank you for choosing to stay at Hermit’s Nest, our home in Bir. We’re very happy to host you and hope you have a lovely stay.
To help make your stay more homely and comfortable, we’ve assembled this small guide for you.
Arrival
On arrival, you will meet our caretaker, Suman didi. Incase you’re arriving by bus or public transport, they will wait for you at the bus stop or a convenient meeting point in the market. They will help arrange a local taxi if needed and take you to the house. This can cost anywhere between Rs. 100 - Rs. 200 depending on the distance.
The caretakers will help you with your luggage from the parking to the house (2 minute walk)
Once you’re home
Once you’re in, Suman didi will ensure that you’re comfortable and feel at home. She will give you a set of keys for the house and will keep one set with her.
You’ll find a welcome basket in the kitchen with bread, eggs, milk, some biscuits and snacks. There’s also a tea and coffee station setup on top of the fridge for you to make your chai / coffee. Please feel free to use anything you find in the kitchen.

Cleaning and Laundry
Suman didi will come daily. Her timings are 10 am - 1 pm.
While she’s there to clean up, please help us with these simple requests to keep the space neat and pest free for yourself and other guests:
You don’t have to wash your dishes. Please rinse them with water and leave them in the sink. Suman didi will clean and organise them.
We are in nature so please remember not to leave any food open in the kitchen or anywhere in the house and you won’t encounter any bugs.
Please help us separate the food and dry waste. Separate bins are provided under the sink and Suman didi will clear it daily.
Thank you for helping us keep the house clean and beautiful 🙏😊
House linen will be cleaned and replaced by Suman didi every third day or on request. If you would also like her to do your laundry, please discuss directly with her. She’d be happy to help you and will let you know the price depending upon the load.
Alternatively, there’s a launder-mat in the market where you can drop off your laundry or call them to collect it from home. It’s called The Red Building Laundry. Contact: +91 90152 71778
Food services
We don’t provide any meals. We have a fully equipped kitchen for you to cook simple meals for yourself. The welcome basket is to make sure that you have the basics to cover you for a day or two after arrival. Tea and coffee supplies will always be replenished from our side. There’s cooking oil and masalas in the kitchen cupboards. Please feel free to use any supplies.
We highly recommend The Local Store (supermarket in Bir Colony) to buy all your groceries.
If you’re struggling to sort your meals, ask Suman didi and she can bring you some simple homely food for a small fee.
