A hunting lodge in the past, Lakshman Sagar is now one of the most beautiful eco-friendly luxury properties in India.
Mud huts with private plunge pools overlooking the lake, luxurious dining in the Janana and Mardana Mahal, spectacular views of rural Rajasthan, a beautiful rock cut pool and hundreds of dancing peacocks. Lakshman Sagar is definitely an oasis of calm and luxury amidst the deserts of Rajasthan.
I saw this property in a travel magazine a few months ago, and from the moment I saw those pictures, I knew I had to get here soon. Thanks to the invitation from Sewara Hospitality, I packed my bags, got in my car from Delhi and found myself driving to the small village of Haripur, located some 150 kms before Jodhpur, in search of this boutique eco-luxury retreat.
I spent two days at Lakshman Sagar and highly recommend the experience for wanderers who love luxury, the country-side, peace and calm, and beautiful sunsets. I'll let the pictures below inspire you to plan your serene getaway to this oasis in the desert!
The rooms at Lakshman Sagar are an experience in themselves.
Beautifully designed eco-friendly mud huts with a living room, bedroom, gorgeous bathroom and a private splash pool. Everything used in the room for its design and decoration has been sourced locally from nearby villages, creating a beautiful harmony between the insides and the outside environment.
The property is spread over many acres.
With gorgeous sit-outs and sunset points that provide great reading and writing spaces, for travelers. It also features a beautiful rock cut pool that took several months to skillfully cut and carve. What's certain is that no matter where you choose to lounge and relax, the experience will be amazing!
My experience at Lakshman Sagar was of absolute bliss and wonder, one that will stay in my memory for a long long time.
A big thank you to Sewara for extending their excellent hospitality and service to me and giving me a chance to experience this oasis! I left Lakshman Sagar full of gratitude and love for Rajasthan!

While most of my adventures take me to far away places, I never let go of an opportunity to explore whats near and close to me. Last month, an opportunity like that came calling and the next day I set out to explore two magical bungalows in Lonavala.
Although Lonavala is one of the most popular weekend destination for Mumbai and Pune dwellers, it still holds its own hidden secrets. Through my travels, I have come to realise that no matter how touristy or commercialised a place may be, it will definitely have its charming, secret elements.
Over three days, I explored two beautiful and quaint bungalows in Lonavala. Both houses are ideal for small groups of friends and families looking for scenic surroundings and a space to spend some quiet, quality time together.
