Surrounded by pine, oak and rhododendron trees, beautiful terraced fields laden with seasonal fruits and vegetables and a charming, small perennial natural spring, The Village House is a nature lovers delight!

The property is located within a10-acre estate in Almora, Uttarakhand. Offering panoramic views of the majestic Nanda Devi, the house is ideal place for slow travellers who enjoy some quiet mountain time.

ABOUT THE STAY

The cottage is built completely in stone, exuding a rustic and authentic Kumaoni charm. Perched on top of a hill, the place offers magnificent views of the verdant valley below and the high Himalayas above. In and around the estate, there are abundant places for you to unwind and relax.

Huge sit-outs overlooking the beautiful terraced fields, a semi open-air dining area where you can indulge in some delicious, freshly prepared meals and numerous nooks and corners perfect for reading or for fulfilling your spiritual quest.

THE ROOMS

The estate offers its travellers a choice of four rooms. You could choose the cozy Oak rooms or the beautiful Kafal room. All three rooms are similar in size, offering day beds for one to sit by the window and gaze at the marvellous beauty of the mountains.

The fourth room is a two-story, independent cottage called Deodar, perfect for those who love huge spaces and don't mind splurging on their weekend abodes! All the rooms offer an authentic, rustic yet luxurious experience to its travellers.

THE CREW

The estate has an excellent team of chirpy porters, cooks and caretakers who act as the most wonderful hosts. The team comprises of locals who are always at your service throughout the stay!

Amit, the manager, with his team is very hospitable and great to have a conversation with about local traditions and the Kumaoni way of life. The entire team works towards ensuring your experience is a memorable one. Special mention goes for the cooks who prepare delicious meals for you to enjoy during your stay. The freshly baked bread is excellent!
